Sugar Marina Resort-Surf-Kata Beach is the SURF property in the Sugar Marina family, rather than its Nautical or other themed hotels. That distinction matters when comparing rooms and guest accounts. The theme is an attraction, but the offered room’s cooling and condition still need to work for your stay.
The pictures explain the design
The supplied photographs show a pool courtyard between accommodation blocks and a bedroom with framed wall art and a clock. They establish the themed setting without proving that every room has the same light, layout or outlook.
The matching property is listed at 100/92 Kata Road. Deluxe, Cozy, Pool View and Pool Access categories appear in the guest material; choose the category rather than assuming a pictured pool-side position is included.
Recent guests have different priorities
An April 2026 visitor liked the theme, nearby beach and night-market access, and borrowing beach equipment. SilviaSh’s November 2025 stay praised the helpful staff and breakfast but described an ageing property and problems with gym equipment.
Focfocus’s July 2025 visit reported construction sound, weak noisy air conditioning and a musty room, then changed hotels. That account concerns a particular period and room; it does not establish that construction continues today.
Make the category do the work
Ask about the room’s position, cooling and any current building works nearby. Check pool-access arrangements if that is why you are booking the category. A useful location and playful design can make a stay appealing, but a light sleeper or someone using the room throughout the day needs more than a theme to decide.
