Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort & Spa is a strong visual choice for travellers drawn to carved timber architecture and a hillside above the coast. Choose the room and the way you will move around the resort together. A villa upgrade can change the bathroom, pool and access as well as the amount of space.
Pool access and a private pool mean different things
The official accommodation list distinguishes a 48-square-metre Supreme Deluxe Pool Access room from a Sea View Pool Villa Plus of 115 square metres, with a separate pool area. The latter lists an open-air shower. These are substantial differences, not interchangeable names for the same room.
The supplied photographs show a broad resort-and-pool outlook and a timber-finished bedroom opening towards a balcony. They explain the appeal of the design, while leaving the actual position and view to the category you book.
Guest accounts make the slopes part of the choice
LW.L’s February 2026 stay enjoyed the wooden structures and sense of nature, while emphasising the secluded location. Veerman’s May 2026 Hideaway Pool Villa stay praised friendly service.
An October 2025 garden-view guest was less comfortable with the hilly road and dark-looking timber room. A September 2025 visitor also found journeys across the island costly and preferred the regular hotel rooms to an outdoor villa bathroom. The point is not that a villa is inherently better: the layout has to suit the person staying in it.
Ask about your daily route
Find out how you will get from the offered room to breakfast, the pool, the beach and your vehicle. Ask which routes involve steps and how on-site transport works. Santhiya is most relevant when time within the resort is a large part of the holiday; regular trips elsewhere on the island require their own plan.
