Bann Makok The Getaway suits a Koh Kood trip built around a creek and mangrove setting. The water sits close to the accommodation, but this is a different choice from stepping directly onto a sandy beach. Cooling arrangements deserve as much attention as the view.
Timber, coloured glass and the creek
The supplied pictures show a cluster of low wooden buildings along the water and a closer view of shutters, timber cladding and coloured glass. That detail gives the place a stronger identity than a conventional hotel corridor. It does not tell you how bright or cool an individual bedroom will feel.
The reservation page places Bann Makok at 10 Moo 4 on Koh Kood. Arrange the final approach and luggage transfer with the property, particularly if arriving after dark. A waterside photograph does not establish the walking route from your vehicle.
A calm setting can still have comfort compromises
Two February 2024 Tripadvisor accounts are especially useful. Trip41706915633 enjoyed looking over the creek but reported odour, a dark room and air-conditioning failures. Whales23 liked the calm setting, kayaking, breakfast and staff, while also criticising the surroundings and describing evening-only air conditioning.
Those are accounts of particular visits, not a statement of today’s operating hours. Ask when cooling is available in the room you are offered. Earlier feedback from Lana70travel, in January 2022, was more enthusiastic about the atmosphere and food.
Choose the room as well as the scenery
Bann Makok is most interesting when its small, unusual wooden-room setting is the reason for the trip. Check a current bedroom photograph, ventilation and the route to the water before booking. If daytime air conditioning or easy access to a sandy beach is essential, settle those points explicitly.
